Developer Aksys Games re-released its sequel to the original BlazBlue, BlazBlue Continuum Shift 2, on both the PSP and the Nintendo 3DS, and now says that the game will be treated to some brand new features in its transition to the PlayStation Vita.
In a recent interview with Siliconera, producer Toshimichi Mori detailed some of the new features coming to the game, which is tentatively titled BlazBlue Continuum Shift 2 Plus, like all new stories, modes and revamped network functionality:
It will have the two scenarios from the PSP/3DS releases and three to four more stories will be added. We’re also looking at network functions for 3G functions, but that is to be determined. We’re also adding team matches for network play, so we will have many more modes.
When pressed about the possibility of new control options via the system's touch screen and rear touch panel, Mori said that the team was currently experimenting with some ideas, but nothing has been nailed down quite yet:
We plan to add a new control scheme using the touch panels. We’re still experimenting and working on it to see how it feels.
And what's fueling all these multiple ports? Mori thanks the cyclical tastes of gamers, which he says are currently hankering for fighters:
Games trends are cyclic. RPGs, for example, can be really popular at one time and then come back later on. Action games, shooting games are like this too. Now is the time for fighting games.
