El Shaddai Ascension of the Metatron Spinoffs For Vita and Wii U ?

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is only coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for now, but future spinoffs may come to other platforms.
Speaking with Destructoid, Ignition director of business development Shane Bettenhausen said that Wii U and PlayStation Vita would be prime candidates for a spinoff or port.
“I think first we’ll probably do more of spin-offs… whether that’s DLC, I think it might be cool to port this to Wii U or Vita maybe.”
According to Shane, El Shaddai starred a female protagonist in its early stages. She may be used as the heroine in a future spinoff, he said.
El Shaddai launches July 26, 2011 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

No Demo For Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

Don’t expect to see a demo of Bethesda’s upcoming The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Producer Craig Lafferty has said that the game’s “gigantic” size makes a demo difficult to release.
“No, we won’t be doing a demo,” said Lafferty during an E3 interview with Gameplanet.
“For a game of this size and complexity it’s really hard to do a demo the represents the game truly. And it would have to be a gigantic demo. So we won’t be doing a demo.”

King of Fighters XIII - PS3 and Xbox 360 Versions To Get New Characters and Stages

It was recently announced at the official site that the game will be released on consoles later this year in October. Developers have confirmed now that the console version of the game will bring exclusive fighter Billy Kane to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
While not much is known about the specifics, we understand that Billy Kane will retain most of his classic moves based on the official screenshot that has been released.
The console version of the game will also include three new stages for players to contest on. The first is set in the interior of the Big Ben clock tower overlooking London, with cameos of Lilly Kane, Wolfgang Krauser, and Laurence Blood in the background. The second is set in the nightclub which looks to be the modernized version of the classic Pao Pao Cafe of Fatal Fury fame. The third stage is set on a grassy field littered with ruins.
The console version of the game has been rebuilt from ground up and will expand the roster from 22 characters to more than 30. Among the additions will be fan favorite Mai, as well as King, Vice, K’, Yuri, Maxima, and more. The console version will feature fast paced fights, new moves, and an enhanced online mode.
King of Fighters XIII on consoles will be published by Atlus, first time they will be serving as the publisher of the series.

GTA V To Be Revealed Soon ?

Grand Theft Auto V showed up on a resume of voice actress Mimi Rodriguez. The curriculum vitae of Mimi Rodriguez lists the game under the “Voice-over” section, where Mimi apparently did work as the “voice of street girl.”
Recently, Game Informer began teasing a cover issue “you won’t see coming,” said to be developed by a studio that’s worked on at least two big games in the past. Could Grand Theft Auto V be the big secret ?

Eidos Montreal Working On A New Game - Legacy of Kain ?

Eidos Montreal is currently working not only on Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Thief 4 but also on a third game. Stephane D'Astous as General Manager announced that the project is based on a known brand..

With Tomb Raider and Hitman: Absolution we already have 2 well-known sequels, while brands such as Legacy of Kain or Commandos are still missing.

Legacy of Kain series was developed after the kick-off of Blood Omen by developers Crystal Dynamics, which, however, is currently busy with Tomb Raider. Yet there are currently circulating messages stating that an action-heavy vampire game is secretly being developed by the studio. Commandos is again the most popular game from Pyro Studios.

Hitman Absolution New Info

1. Game is primarily set in Chicago

2. Begins with Agent 47 on the run from the Chicago police

3. IO’s Glacier 2 engine supposedly offer fantastic facial animations

4. Use of cover mechanics.

5. Bigger focus on staying hidden, rather than staying in disguise (sounds a lot like Splinter Cell: Conviction so far)

6. Instinct mode highlights enemies and their patrols through walls, like Arkham Asylum’s detective mode.

7. It’s powered by silent take downs

8. No big scale map screen as in previous games.

9. Mini map still highlights points of interest

10. New threat meter is a grey circle that wavers in directions where enemies may spot 47 (again as in Conviction)

11. There will be lots of improvised weapons players can use that are unique to each location

12. Players can take hostages as human shields as in previous games

13. This hostage taking prompted some complex AI patterns in the demo, with cops fanning out realistically to keep sight of the target.

14. Levels will be divided into checkpoints for the first time.

15. Some stages will be as large as in old Hitman games, others will be much smaller

16. New structure allows for greater variety and complex set pieces, as well as story driven moments

17. Having a disguise doesn’t mean you’ll be able to fool everybody

18. Plot will be more personal to 47, with the Hitman knowing some of his targets.

19. 47 and Diana will have new voice actors

20. Hand to hand combat will be involved.

21. Instinct mode increases disguise effectiveness. As cops in the demo questions 47′s movements while he’s disguised as a police man, he enters instinct and uses his police radio to fool them

22. Each disguise has safe spots, like a box of doughnuts for police men.

23. You’ll be completely safe in that disguise for as long as you want

24. New engine offers on the fly editing for AI. AI can also affect group behavior now.

25. Whatever you do, the AI will react to that dynamically

26. The way crowds will be used will be different

27. The game releases in 2012 on the PS3, 360 and PC.

Sega Gets Hacked

There’s been “unauthorised entry” into SEGA’s Pass system database, the company’s alerted.
According to a message that just popped into our inboxes, the company took the Sega Pass system down yesterday and is now investigating the breach; “Over the last 24 hours we have identified that unauthorised entry was gained to our SEGA Pass database.
“We immediately took the appropriate action to protect our consumers’ data and isolate the location of the breach. We have launched an investigation into the extent of the breach of our public systems.
While “none of the passwords obtained were stored in plain text” (they were encrypted), both users’ email addresses and dates of birth were compromised.
“Please note that no personal payment information was stored by SEGA as we use external payment providers, meaning your payment details were not at risk from this intrusion.”
As usual, the company is recommending everyone change their passwords immediately should they match the one used on Sega Pass, which Sega has already reset itself.
It’s further warned: “Additionally we recommend you please take extra caution if you should receive suspicious emails that ask for personal or sensitive information.
“Therefore please do not attempt to login to SEGA Pass at present, we will communicate when the service becomes available.”
This of course comes after several weeks of hacking troubles that have hit the industry, ranging from Sony and Epic Games to more recently EVE Online and BioWare.

Robin Playable In Batman: Arkham City ?

A Best Buy advertisement for Batman: Arkham City seemingly confirming Robin's appearance in the game. Not only that, boy wonder's suggested to be a "playable character" in two challenge maps when pre-ordering from the retailer.

The information was first spotted via a blurry (and not very credible) shot of the proposed advertisement, this was then enforced when Best Buy updated their site reflecting the offer. This has now been removed but is still available through Google Cache.

Halo Action Figures From Square Enix

Square Enix Products has produced some lovely action figures in itsHalo: Reach Play Arts Kai series. Now the company commemorates the tenth anniversary of the Halo franchise with a re-envisioned version of Master Chief and a stunning Spartan Mark V.
Part of the new Halo: Combat Evolved Play Arts Kai series, the new Master Chief figure has been remade with sleek lines and sci-fi style the official announcement calls "iconic of other Square Enix products." While it's unmistakable the hero of Halo one through three, the devil is in the tiny details that lend a distinctive Japanese flavor to the familiar figure.
Both the new Master Chief and black Spartan V will be released later this year, with an asking price of $54.99 apiece. They'll also be on display in prototype form next week at E3 2011, so maybe we'll snap some pictures to help you decide if an action figure is worth that much.

Batman Arkham City: Catwoman Details

Kotaku let the cat out of the bag with these details:
  • Catwoman will be wrecking havoc in Arkham City with her arsenal of whip, bola and caltrop

  • Selina will be able to climb walls, buildings and traverse ceilings with her claws

  • While some missions are optional, Miss Kyle’s story is so intertwined with Batman’s the player will have to done her catsuit at very specific times during the game

  • In the trailer Catwoman breaks into a vault containing items taken from Arkham City’s inmates. In this museum of menace (harking back to the display cases in Arkham Asylum) the player can see Bane’s  (think of it as a museum of mat’s safe to assume to teddy bear is Bane’s)
When Gamespot got their paws on Catwoman and spoke to Dax Ginn, Rocksteady’s Marketing Game Manager, they managed to gleam some purr-tty interesting information about her playable level:
  • Catwoman will not have the same rigid moral compass that Batman works to so anally resulting in some darker motives and actions

  • Catwoman has been “designed as an integral part of the complete Batman: Arkham City experience”. Though Ginn corrects himself after saying: “Arkham series”. Will she be showing her whiskers again? Perhaps in a multiplayer mode?

  • Players able to increase Miss Kyle’s armour and abilities as Batman levels up

  • Though Batman and Catwoman’s stories are intertwined ‘Catwoman is using Batman and the chaos within Arkham City to her own ends.’ Anyone with a goal in Arkham needs some muscle behind them in order to achieve it.

  • Batman grapples to a rooftop heaving with cats prompting a context sensitive command putting the player in Catwoman’s spandex

  • Selina’s combat has been built  separately to Batman’s control system giving her a differently different feel to The Dark Knight

  • The Feline Fatale features a point system rewarding the player for innovative navigation around the environment. For example: picking up speed on rooftops before jumping and going into an air to ground takedown

  • Catwoman’s sub-story will be approximately 10%  of the entire game

  • The Feline of Thievery will use her whip to move about the environment quickly as well as being able to jump and climb obstacles

  • Selina Kyle has her own version of Detective Mode dubbed Thief Mode that will highlight objects of value

  • Dotted throughout Arkham City are several Riddler trophies only obtainable using The Vixen of Villainy’s acrobatic skills

  • During the vault mission Catwoman engages guards standing over a manhole, climbs vines and pickpockets in a stealth section

  • It is also revealed that Catwoman is allied with that other Femme Fatale of Gotham, Poison Ivy

  • Poison Ivy’s vines will act as both indicators of where Catwoman has to go and aids for getting her there. This must mean whatever Catwoman is after in the vault is of mutual benefit to both ladies
